CLICK AND SAVE TIN PAN BAY CAMPAIGN
Bob Irwin is
urging 1 million people to ‘Click and Save’ Tin Can Bay,
adjacent to World Heritage listed Fraser Island. "I need
to show the world the amazing biodiversity and beauty of
the Great Sandy Strait and what we’ll be losing, should
the [proposed] marina go ahead - the mangroves and the
sea grass beds and the dolphins, dugongs and turtles,"
says Bob. "I will fight as long and as hard as necessary
to preserve this pristine environment for our future
generations." We urgently need your help to secure
absolute protection for this area, before it is
destroyed. A decision could be made as early as Nov
2010. Click and Save Tin Can Bay (in just 3 seconds) at

HEALTHY APPROACH

HEALTHY APPROACH
The koala, a national
icon, is in danger of extinction and Meghan Halverson's
mission is to help see them be listed as an endangered
species nationally in order to gain the protection they
need. She has attended 2 out of 3 Senate inquiries into
the health and sustainability of the koala and plans to
attend the 3rd in July if she can raise the
funds to cover costs. The slideshow she created tells
the story of their plight as pictures speak louder than
words. This slideshow was tabled at the inquiries for
Senate viewing. Meghan is also helping to produce a film
internationally that will lead to greater awareness
around the world regarding these beautiful animals. Her
hope is that it is not too late and that for generations
to come, Australians and tourists alike will still be
able to see koalas in the wild. They need our help!

ALAN & STELLAS STORY |
ALAN & STELLAS STORY
Wildhaven is a wildlife shelter just outside
St Andrews in NE Victoria (Australia) which
is owned and run by Alan and Stella Reid. On
February 7, 2009 Wildhaven was utterly
destroyed in the state's most devastating
bushfire in its recorded history. As a CFA
(Country Fire Authority) volunteer, Stella
was out on a truck on that fateful day and
Alan was at home, confident that he could
protect the well-prepared property and all
the animals in care. Sadly, at the end of
the day, the Reids had lost their home, all
their possessions and, most heart-breaking
of all, every animal in care and many, many
more they had released over the years. The
Reids were determined to start again and, on
February 13, 2009, began the long and, at
times very painful, process of re-building
Wildhaven to be bigger and better than ever.
Follow their blog as they
rebuild!

sick and injured koalas, with causes. Membership

dolphins, bottlenose dolphins and dugongs. These
species are protected under Australian law. Despite
this protection, little is known about them and we need
your help to learn more. |

the day and night to rescue these beautiful creatures.
They also help with relays for sick and injured koalas
from the Gold Coast and sometimes as far as Lismore in
New South Wales. Of course they also get calls for other
animals and if they can help, they do that too!
